NuiMOs Bathroom Vanity
The final piece of furniture I have for today is a bathroom vanity! I actually have a couple pieces of furniture that I haven't taken pictures of yet, but most were super simple so it'll be easy to write a post about them someday. But for now this the final one for today. =)
Here's what you'll need:
- Cardboard (average thickness and thin)
- Hot Glue and Hot Glue Gun
- Craft Foam (two colors)
- Popsicle Sticks
- Pipe Cleaners
- Craft Paper
- Cutters
- Tin Snips
- Ruler
- Pen
- Aluminum Foil or Mirror
Cut out some cardboard: 3" x 5" (x2), 3" x 2.5" (x2), and 2.5" x 5" (x2). Glue them as pictured above, and cut a hole for your sink. Make a sink out of craft foam and glue it to the inside of the sink hole.
What I don't show in the next photo is cutting a piece a cardboard that goes underneath the popsicle stick exterior. The doorway is 4" x 3", so that should make the piece 5" x 3.5" originally. I get this because the pieces that goes around as a doorway is 0.5" wide.
Take some black foam for the countertop, making sure to leave the sink open.
I did these door similar to the way that I did the kitchen sink doors. I use the cardboard piece from above that was 4" x 3" and then cut it in half. I covered the exterior with craft foam and used two strips of craft paper to attach the doors so they could still kind of open.
I also did the same thing for the faucet and knobs by using one pipe cleaner. One half of the pipe cleaner was wrapped around a pen and then bent to give the curve. The other half got cut in half and twisted into knobs.
You'll see here that I have two variations of the mirror. I realized that after making the first one it wasn't going to fit into the attic of my nuiMOs house where the bathroom was to be located. So, I had to make an oval one that would fit into the peak of the roof-line better. Both mirrors were make using aluminum foil sandwiched between two layers of craft foam. The rectangle has the popsicle sticks for the frame. To attach it to the vanity I used another popsicle stick.
There you have it, a bathroom vanity! I hope that this was somewhat helpful to you and you feel like maybe you can tackle one yourself. Please share your creations here or with @disneynuimosdiy on Instagram. Have fun crafting!
