Hair Bow Tutorial

Next on the tutorial list is the hair bow. This is also available on the patterns I shared before. These are simple, yet difficult. The hardest part is getting the sewing machine going along the curves edges.

Here's what you'll need:
  • Fabric pieces - two bows, one strap 1.5"x3"
  • 1/4" Elastic long enough to go around your nuiMOs head
  • Thread
  • Sewing Needle
 



The first thing to sew is the strap/middle part. Fold it so the two edges go towards the middle and then fold in half. Then sew along one edge. The end result is the last photo above.
 


 
 
The next step is to face the bow pieces with the right sides touching. The seam allowance is the same as the pants. It's the distance between the needle and the opening on the presser foot. This will be the difficult part if you're sewing with a machine. Just take it slow and you'll get around. Make sure to leave a part of the bottom not sewn.


 
Turn the bow right side out. You'll probably have to use a pen or something to help you get all the fabric out in the right areas. Then sew the gap on the bottom as close as you can to the edge. If you don't want to see the stitches, then sew the part by hand using the invisible stitch. I was just too lazy to care, lol.

 
 
Take the elastic and hand sew the ends of the elastic together. Then take one of the ends of the middle part and attach it to the elastic where you sewed the elastic together.



 
 
Place the bow on and wrap the middle piece around a couple times. Tuck the not sewn end in. Then use your needle to finish on the middle by hand-sewing it.

 Okay. I really, really hope this works. This is my first times making some printable patterns, so there's probably going to be some hiccups. Let me know in the comments and I will try to figure it out. These should fit onto a 8.5" x 11" sheet of paper each, for scale. These patterns are designed with a very small seam allowance. (The collars of the shirts even more so.) You can make clothes by hand-sewing or use a machine. The hems are only one fold vs. the regular double-fold. Just makes it easier to handle. But this also means you're not going to want to use fabric that will fray a lot. For notions you will need 1/4" elastic black/white and some velcro. I bought a 2" thick velcro and then cut it into tiny 1/4" strips for the shirts. Show me your cute designs made with these patterns. New Dress Patterns And Tutorial

It's been a long time coming, but here are some new sewing patterns! I posted a sneak peek on my Instagram about a month ago and I finally got around to making some for the tutorial. These are two new dresses. I'm calling them a Wrap Dress and a Empire Waist Dress. The Wrap Dress is a completely new dress while the Empire Waist Dress is made just like the gathered dress I did earlier, so follow the tutorial for this dress here . The only difference is that didn't make the skirt portion as poofy. I know it can be hard to print these off. I may have a new way to share these but I'm not sure yet. So, for now, save the image and print to fill the whole page. The page size I've based these on should be 8.5" x 11". Please remember anything you make if just for personal use. nuiMOs Sorcerer Mickey Outfit (And Shoes)

It's time for a new pattern! This is one that I've been wanting to make for some time now and I finally got around to making it. I thought it would adorable to see Mickey in his Sorcerer's Apprentice outfit and, boy, was I right! The fabric I had turned out to be little tricky but in the end it worked out.  Please remember that I'm sharing these patterns in good faith. Don't use these patterns for selling purposes. These are for personal use only. Adobe did something weird when enabling editing on the photo, lol. Shoe here are the patterns to make his outfit. I made a shoe pattern because he has brown shoes and I didn't purchase any of that color. As it says, there are two patterns on there and I used the bottom set. And then for the sorcerer robe you will have to print out the jacket pattern available with the first set of patterns . You'll need to have a front, the two backs, and two sleeves.
