Crochet Santa Hat

Image
'Tis the Season for Holiday crafting! With the lack of Holiday outfits from shopDisney, I knew that I had to find something to dress my nuiMOs. The sweaters above aren't made by me or Disney, they're $3 ornaments from Target! There are four to choose from and a little tricky to put on. You have to start one foot at a time and go slowly to get the rest. I may adjust them to make it easier in the future. Anyway, onto the crochet patterns. That's right, I said pattern s . There are two versions of the Santa hat. One is made with this thin yarn (I think it's used to lacework) that I've had lying around and the other is made with Red Heart yarn and has ear holes put right in so we don't lose Mickey or Minnie's ears. As per the norm, I'm in America so the abbreviations in the pattern are accordingly so; and I'm sharing these in good faith. Please don't use these for monetary gain.  What You'll Need: Red yarn (thin or regular) Fluffy white yar...

Crochet Hat w/ Brim (or Beanie)

Image
Now here's a simple pattern that anyone new to crocheting in the round can try. This hat is created exclusively in the round with the exception of the brim. As an added thing, you don't even have to make the brim and you've got yourself a beanie for your nuiMOs to wear. You can even add a little pompom to add to the cozy factor. Remember, I'm located in America so the pattern abbreviations are accordingly so. And, as usual, I'm sharing these patterns in good faith. Please don't sell the pattern or any product made from it. Thanks! What you'll need:  Thinner yarn 3.5 mm (E) hook Scissors Stitch marker Yarn needle  Abbreviations: MAR = magic adjustable ring  st = stitch sc = single crochet dc = double crochet inc = increase stitch inv dec = invisible decrease *...* = repeat inside as indicated    HAT: *Everything in both loop unless otherwise stated. MAR Rnd 1: 6 sc into MAR (6) Rnd 2: inc around (12) Rnd 3: *sc, inc* x 6 (18) Rnd 4: *sc 2 st, inc* x 6 (24) ...

Crochet Dresses, Bow, and Beret

Image
It's time for more crochet patterns! I finally got a hold of some yarn that I thought would be the perfect thickness to make some cute outfits for my nuiMOs. I wanted thinner stuff because detail work is so much better when you have more stitches to work with. I was going for a different kind of dress but I need to rehearse myself in lace-work to get the feeling I want. Right off the bat I will tell you that Minnie's dress is easier to start off with. Both dresses have the same start but it's the bottom that makes Miss Piggy's dress a bit more difficult. No matter what, I hope you take the chance to make all of these items. At the moment I'm unsure about the fit of these dress for Daisy. From what I understand Daisy's got back so it may lie a bit different on her. I'm thinking of adopting her and her main man pretty soon, though, so I can make sure these patterns fit all nuiMOs. As always I share these patterns in good faith. Please don't use these patte...

DIY Clothes Pattern (Part 1)

Image
Okay. I really, really hope this works. This is my first times making some printable patterns, so there's probably going to be some hiccups. Let me know in the comments and I will try to figure it out. These should fit onto a 8.5" x 11" sheet of paper each, for scale. These patterns are designed with a very small seam allowance. (The collars of the shirts even more so.) You can make clothes by hand-sewing or use a machine. The hems are only one fold vs. the regular double-fold. Just makes it easier to handle. But this also means you're not going to want to use fabric that will fray a lot. For notions you will need 1/4" elastic black/white and some velcro. I bought a 2" thick velcro and then cut it into tiny 1/4" strips for the shirts. Show me your cute designs made with these patterns. I'm thinking of sharing some every now and then here on the blog as a showcase. Remember, you can also share on Instagram to @disneynuimosdiy.  Have fun creating!
